Judy Hines, PresidentOn Judy Hines’ sun porch over 25 years ago, a mission was developed and initiated that continues to positively impact the healthcare industry. Hines—one of the first personalized managed healthcare companies—was founded in 1987 and is now a nationwide leader.

Based on the truth that consumer education and patient empowerment encourage a healthier life, “The benefit to you is continually reflected in quality of care, cost containment and patient satisfaction,“ says Judy. “It is rewarding to know that our original goals created on that sun porch long ago remain strong, innovative and effective.”

Executive Team

Judy Hines, President

Receiving her nursing degree from Northern Illinois University and a Master’s in Business from Northwestern University, Judy has been involved with onsite utilization review since 1974.

Her philosophy of hard cost savings vs. soft savings and increased consumer education in healthcare decision-making have impacted industry standards and have led Hines to the forefront of the cost containment field.

Judy is past President of the Chicago Claim Association and past General Chairperson of the Midwest Claim Conference.

 

Eileen Zurblis, RN, CCM, Executive Vice President

Ms. Zurblis earned her nursing degree from Muhlenberg Hospital School of Nursing and is a certified Case Manager. She has been employed by Hines & Associates since 1988 and is responsible for risk management, utilization review regulatory affairs, HIPAA/ URAC compliance and is stop loss liaison. Eileen has 23 years of cardiac and intensive care experience and was instrumental in the development of quality care standards for critical care nurses at a large metropolitan hospital.

 

Lynn Breitbach, RN, BSN, CCM, Executive Vice President

Ms. Breitbach earned her nursing degree from University of Iowa where she was valedictorian of her graduating class. Lynn has over 19 years of experience in managed care, including case, utilization and disease management. At Hines & Associates she is responsible for operations and product and staff development. Prior, she provided her utilization review and program evaluation expertise in a multi-program health care agency and as a community nurse and supervisor.

 

Derek Christopher, Director of Information Technology

Mr. Christopher is responsible for the overall IT strategic direction and operations of Hines, including establishing and implementing policies and standards that govern the planning, acquisition, management, delivery and security of all IT assets.

He has excelled in information technology for over 18 years in both the private and public sector. Mr. Christopher has managed or participated in large-scale projects across a diverse portfolio of needs in project management, system development, network design, software and hardware deployment, IT visioning and strategic planning.

Under Mr. Christopher's leadership, Hines has developed secure and customized healthcare information, online reporting and file exchange for customers, and provides secure access to remote users. He continues to strive for: Accessiblity, Availability, Integrity and Security for all Hines' customers.
